Never Give Up On A Photo

On my Photography blog I wrote about this photo in the article Photo Thoughts: Experimentation is the key to happiness, and there I described how I didn’t give up on this photo despite not being dazzled by my first couple attempts. This last result is one that I’m jazzed about because it looks great both on the display and when printed from my Epson 3880 on Exhibition Fiber using ColorByte Imageprint. I thought this was going to be a photo I processed for the client and then called it a day, but in this case I came up with something that helped me grow a little more as a photographer today.

This shot was taken with my Canon 5D Mark II in my studio with the new lighting setup. I used my 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM lens at 130mm with an exposure of 1/200 sec at f/10 using ISO 160.  I processed the shot with Viveza, Color Efex, and PhotoTools and for my sharpening I used Sharpener Pro. I experimented with different backgrounds and borders using PhotoFrame, but ultimately I decided to stick with the white background and a simple frame.
